Yi visited the Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology (E3B) at Columbia University for a seminar, with a day of exciting conversations.

The visit featured wide-ranging conversations with E3B faculty on topics spanning biogeochemical cycles, tick range expansion in urban green spaces, tree growth, and challenges associated with climate change ranging from fire, wetland methane emissions, and migratory birds. A pizza lunch with graduate students offered a great opportunity to hear about their research and experiences in the E3B PhD program.

The seminar, "Historical Legacies and Modern Risks: Heat Disparities across U.S. Cities and Wildfire Risk Amplification at Urban Edges," drew an engaged audience and sparked lively discussion. Dinner provided an opportunity to deepen these conversations. We are grateful for the opportunities to exchange ideas and look forward to growing collaborations ahead!
